At GT Church this past month, we've heard about being moved with compassion for our neighbors, the world, the children, and the lost. More importantly than just hearing about it, many of us have been moved to action that shows compassion. As we go through the weeks and months ahead, look for ways to get to know people and show them the same compassion that God shows to us every day.
COMPASSIONATE COFFEE
The mercury only reaches 7 degrees today.
The wind whips my cheeks and stings my face.
Sitting in front of the coffee shop,
people come and go with their cup of joe.
Do they see me,
Do they know?
Do they know I am cold?
That a warm cup of joe will fill my soul?
I blow into my hands for some warmth.
My eyes travel up to see a smiling face.
A kind hand extends a warm pair of gloves and a cup full of joe.
Speechless, I accept the gift.
The kind face says God bless you, and to my surprise it was those words, their compassion, that filled my soul.
